Friend Connect ñ Google Gets Social
Google Friend Connect is a free online service/OpenSocial application
offered by Google that allows Web site owners to add social features to
their sites and, in turn, allows their site's visitors to connect with friends
and make new ones across various Web sites.
With Google Friend Connect, a Web site owner can let his site's visitors
ìjoinî his/her site. In turn, visitors are given the option to sign in using
their existing Goggle, Yahoo, AIM, or OpenID accounts.
Google offers the Friend Connect service through various gadgets.
Currently, Friend Connect has 16 gadgets and new ones are being created
constantly by Goggle and the Open Social developer community.
Using Google Friend Connect and its gadgets requires no programming.
Just choose from Google Friend Connect's gallery the gadgets you want to
add to your Web site, copy a few snippets of codes, paste them on your
Web site's HTML, and Friend Connect does the rest.
Google Friend Connect provides social functionality to a site or blog
turning a static webpage into a dynamic, interactive online piece of real

Join Google Friend Connect (using a Google account/email address)
Go to http://www.google.com/friendconnect/
Click Sign in.
Enter your Email address.
Enter your Password.
Click Sign in.
Click button to agree to the Friend Connect Developer Terms of Service.
Join Google Friend Connect (using a non-Google email address)
Go to http://www.google.com/friendconnect/
Click Get started.
Click Create an account now.
Enter your non-Google email address.
Enter your Password.
Re-enter your Password.
Select your Location.
Enter the characters displayed under Word Verification.
Click I accept. Create my account.
Click on the verification link provided in the verification email.
Logging in to Google Friend Connect (with a non-Google email account)
Go to http://www.google.com/friendconnect
Click Sign in.
In the Google Account box:
- Enter your non-Google email address
- Enter your password.
- Click Sign in.
Click Google Friend Connect under My Products.
Click Get started.
